El Paso County Supports Breastfeeding and Pumping Mothers

El Paso County Courthouse, in El Paso, Texas, unveiled their two new Mamava pods in a ribbon-cutting ceremony that recognized the unique needs of breastfeeding mothers. “Supporting mothers is certainly a workplace issue,” said Judge Linda Chew of the 327th District Court. “But it is also a social justice issue.”

Workplace breastfeeding support is important for all working mothers, but it’s especially necessary for women who work in the service sector, including the El Paso County Courthouse, as they often don’t have private offices or additional benefits of extended maternity leave. Now breastfeeding and pumping employees, jurors, and visitors will have clean and private spaces to pump in the county courthouse.
